Terms of service

Effective 9 September 2026

These terms cover the personal, self-hosted Home Assistant instance described on the home page, the Google Cloud project it uses, and this website.

1. What this is

ohanian.dev is a private household system operated by one person for their own use. It is not a commercial product, not a hosted service, and not available to the public. There are no user accounts, no registration, no subscriptions, and no fees.

2. Who may use it

Use is limited to the domain owner and members of their household. No access is offered to anyone else, and no one else is invited to authorize the associated Google Cloud project. Attempting to gain access to the system or the network it runs on is not permitted.

3. Google account data

The system connects to the operator's own Google account with their consent, through Google's official APIs. What is accessed and how it is handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Authorization can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions.

4. No warranty

Everything here is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Home automation depends on hardware, network connectivity, and third-party services that may fail or change without notice. Nothing here should be relied upon for safety, security, medical, or other critical purposes.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from the operation or unavailability of this system or website.

6. Third-party services

This system relies on services operated by others, including Google and Cloudflare, and on the open-source Home Assistant project. Those services are governed by their own terms, and nothing here modifies them.

7. Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always the one published at this address, with the effective date shown above.
